Job Description
•Full time Position based at the construction work site.
•This position is Discipline focussed – The Superintendent should be an expert of Civil – Structure work
•This position is an on-site role, not office or desk bound, must be a walk around superintendent.
•Responsible for the efficient and effective coordination of site supervision for construction activities relating to Civil & Structural
Basic Job Requirements
Qualification & Experience

•Graduate Engineer with minimum 10 Years of experience in Site Supervision activities of Petrochemical / Chemical / Oil & Gas / Refineries / Fertilizer projects.
•Diploma Engineer with 15 years of experience in Site Supervision activities of Petrochemical / Chemical / Oil & Gas / Refineries / Fertilizer projects.
•Out of that, at least 2 years’ experience as Superintendent. 
•Sound working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementing of same.
•Strong and proven ability to lead; direct and manage groups of diverse employees.
•Exceptional vigour and energy accompanied by appropriate oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
•Promote overall project safety and environmental awareness in employees, subcontractors and all persons in the job.
•Ensure that hazards are identified, risks assessed, control measures planned and implemented in consultation with relevant employees.
•Regularly participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks, and daily jobsite safety walks.
•Ensure all construction activities are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, drawings, codes and standards, which form part of the contract.
•Implement Fluor’s standardized construction work processes, procedures, manuals and systems and execute the systems of control in each specific area.
•Understand the entire Project scope of work, schedule, work sequence and ensure that the work is performed accordingly, utilising planned resources in an efficient manner.
•Organise, coordinate and direct construction activities in accordance with construction schedule monitor and review construction so as to complete the works on time and within budget.
•Review work procedures and method statements for compliance. Contribute to construction schedule and 6 Week look-ahead, understand the project plans and specifications, identify and solve problems, order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.
•Coordinate with Area Managers and Site Manager for day to day Construction activities at Site. 
•Inform Construction Manager about the issues related to work front release and closing of TQs and any drawing change notes. Promptly advise Area Manager / Site Manager of any issues that could be variations to the contract and keep accurate records of such issues.
•Ensure that discipline supervisors are inducted and trained in their roles and responsibilities and ensure that each reporting supervisor is capable of performing their allotted scope of work.
•Ensure that all supervisors understand the construction KPIs and their personal KPIs, and strive to achieve these and ensure all daily progress reports are received from Supervisors and Engineers. The review of inspection test packages, witness inspection/test where required based on approved ITPs.
•Monitor the performance of Sub-contractors, ensure personnel are qualified and competent to perform allocated tasks, have valid certification, where required, for the techniques in use.
•Assist the site subcontractors in the resolution of drawing interpretation and co-ordinate site related inspections with site sub-contractors. Review all inspection reports for compliance.
•Coordinate with Sub-contractors for timely closure of NCR, CAR, DSR and Quality Walkthrough findings. Coordinate with the customers QC inspectors for the resolution of site quality related problems.

ANCILLARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

•Responsible for administrative control of supervisors who report to him. 
•Motivate construction supervising team and promote enthusiasm at work site.
•Serve as a coach and mentor for subordinates and identify construction Supervisors with capacity to be promoted to Superintendent level.
•Promote professional image of the Company’s operations and maintain harmonious relationship with the Client and their representative. 
•Maintain positive working relationship with contractors, suppliers and other employees.
•Ensure that Site organisation discipline is appropriately maintained.
•Ensure timely submission of Site reports for progress monitoring and other Site performance information to Site Management Team.
•Requisition of minor materials and consumables as required.
•Any other duties which may be assigned by the Site Management.
